albums

I’ve got new choons in case you haven’t noticed..Rather; old CDs just in. Zero 7’s Simple Things, Moby’s 18 and a Summer Chill-out CD 2003. Oh, a Double CD Noveau Bossa album..no idea what on earth that is. Always open to new strange sounds..we’ll see by next weekend my ear for it.

I seldom get whole albums in..the last time I properly documented my iPod was during my brush with Orbital..non-stop orbital music for months on end. Moving on to other sounds…it is amazing how far I’ve come in a year of musical discovery. From running loose in tower records to a more refined but eclectic taste…it’s been a fun ride.

War & bubblegum

Sunday, May 29th, 2005

Everyone’s doin’ it..why not me?Yeps, gobbled by the star wars bug. Verdict? Anakin sounds like a bimbo:

Anakin: Hey, let go of that ole geezer..it aint the way of the Jedi!

(Jedi master lets go..just in time to be zapped by Palpatine)

Palpatine: Hey, wanna be bad?

Anakin: Err..why?

Palpatine: It may save your wife’s life…and the best part is that you’ll get a brand new name with that! How cool does Darth Vader sound?

Anakin: Hey, that IS cool! Awrite..I’m in..let’s go kill all my friends!Rarr!

It paints a portrait of a stupid young man.Would’ve been better if this was cut into two parts.George Lucas was so obviously trying to rush through things and all it managed to do was to make Anakin look like the cornerstreet bimbo with a chihuahua down at Movietown Hollywood.

Saturday morning, got up at 7 to go to the AC Nielsen’s Media research workshop. God..at 7am.That’s earlier than my normal working hours! Can barely stay awake..all for the sake of an extra RM100.It was quite interesting listening to the various songs and let nostalgia sets in:

Eternal flame: ”Our Song” for me & L

Ice,ice baby: visions of white trash trying to act black

Kiss me: Concert at the Big Fresno Fair with Olga & Kelsy

Don’t say you love me: Chilling at San Francisco

Don’t call me baby: Thursday Student nites at Fresno’s Millenium club

Damaged: token breakup song

That don’t impress me much: This one is the weirdest ever. I was getting a haircut at downtown KL.Seeing that I was still early, I walked around the cluster of shopaheaven..and EVERY single time I pass by KL Plaza’s Starbux, I would hear this song come on..It lasted for about, 1/2 hour. After I was done with my hair, walked right back to KL Plaza for my caffine fix at Starbux. AGAIN the same song is on..By this time, it was getting to me.Went inside the mall and did some shopping. Came back out 1/2 hour later.Same song. with my haircut factored in, it was 5 hours NONSTOP Shania. At least. Everytime I hear that song, I cringe.

Well, that was my Sat morning..slept in the rest of the weekend in anticipation of the let’s-visit-KL Towers next weekend. The attack of the white people…heh.Hope they bring me some more of the brilliant blue bubble gum rum.

What is bubblegum rum I hear? Well, this is a concotion particular to Philiphines(or so i think)..sold at 7-11 for RM 7 at 750ml.Yes,you’re not going blind, it really is RM7 for a normal sized liquour bottle.Lovely flavour, and no, you can’t blow bubbles with it. It just tastes like bubblegum..with a 25% alcohol content.Mix it up with Sprite and it’s better than Jack & Coke.

Bank Hols today, so office is pretty peaceful..I hate holidays..cos I ain’t got any.

Killer blog

A little overdue, but here it is.Ripped from Shaky.

A chilling reminder of the darker side of blogworld. His blog tells you bits and pieces about him and it’s surreal to see that this underweight boy potter on about wanting to watch the Sith, which he would never be able to.

Not feeling the top o’ the world currently.Si didn’t get the job…which would’ve been perfect.Don’t really feel like elaborating..but suffice to say, our lives would’ve been just miles better with him getting the job. That’ll mean the 5 minute travel time from home instead of the hour drive;the travels which will mean that I’ll get to come home more often..and of course it was the perfect job for him to be his nosy self.

I’m starting to wonder if it’s got something to do with me..as we’ve been telling people that we’re looking into staying in KL.What’s the point of getting someone on board if there’s a probability that he’ll run away to the far east for some bird in a few months’ time? Ironically,we did that for my career. Now it seems that his is the one which is in jeopordy of a standstill.

Decisions,decisions..Maybe it IS time to start looking into moving to KL instead.

Me.Wants.New.Camera.

My resolution for year 2004 was either to get an iPod or digicam, as I could only afford one. Lugging around a huge powershot no longer hold it’s charm. No point buying a brick if you’re not going to lug it around..no matter how lovely it’s pictures are.

Due to some unforseen circumstances, I received a free ixus i and 50% discount off iPod (Thanks julz!).

The more you have, the more you need want. Now I want an ixus 700 and an iPod photo.

I got hooked on my ixus i due to it’s teeny weeny size..can’t count the times I’ve mistakenly picked it up thinking that it’s my cell phone. It lurks somewhere deep in my handbag .The ixus 700 looks pretty good to me, 7.1mp with 3x optical zoom.Ways better than the digital zoom on my ixus i, which is about the only thing I hate about my camera.Anyone with feedback on the 700?

Right. Time to stop packing my bags and curb my jetsetting habits.Bad, bad girl! Stop getting on the mile-high club!

Either that or keep my fingers crossed for my birthday. *hint*hint*

Drill-a-gob

Saturday, May 21st, 2005

The wisp of a woman drilled on.Me, with my sunnies on and about 10 items in my wide open gob pressed on.

This is one dentist I like.First visit:

She: You have a cavity the size of a crater.Your tooth, half of it is gone. It’ll be like the reconstruction of a serial killer.

Me: Houston,we’re in trouble.

She: Ok then..you’ve got two choice.Normal filling, you’ll need to return twice yearly for touchups (just like a tattoo I thought). Silver filling,it’ll last you more than ten years. That crater’s too big to filled by a normal filling.

Me:( visions of old hairless croons grinning at me with their gold front tooth) WHAT? Bling bling-ing in my gob?!?

She: Well, bling bling or ouch ouch.

Me: Sigh.Bring on the blings.

Am glad to announce that she did a pretty job of coating it with a normal white filling,so it looks sort of porcelain instead of bada bling.Good woman. She also jabbed me with tonnes of anesthetic,I spent the whole day slurring and smiling like an idiot.Glad all my mates found that amusing.

Today, had two other filling done up.She gave me that much anesthetic that I couldn’t blink my left eye.Tears just kept pouring and I look like I’ve been abused. All she could do was laugh at me and suggest that I keep my sunnies on.Learnt my lesson..no more meeting up with my mates after the dentist. This time I’m safe at home…slapping my own left cheek in amusement
